RELEASE NOTES

4.3.0 30 OCT 2026

We have finally found the right format for our tag section and are very proud to ship it today. Also, we now have localisation for our main markets and a new font thanks to Dinamo Typefaces - Nico

Improvements
(a) Nodes in Eight More Languages - Nodes now follows your Mac's language in German, French, Spanish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Korean and Simplified Chinese.
(b) Tags as a Graph - The Tags section of the Node Inspector is now a graph: the node's tags on the left, the tags that most often sit beside them on the right. Click a tag to move it across, or start typing and press Tab to complete a name.
(c) Import a Folder - Import a folder and its subfolders become tags. Every import now ends on an overview of what arrives before anything is added.
(d) ABC Areal Replaces Inter - ABC Areal by Dinamo Typefaces takes Inter's place among the fonts. If you wrote in Inter, Nodes moves you to Areal.
(e) General Settings, Rearranged - Settings ▸ General is now three cards - Writing, Library and Page - and the fonts have a page of their own.
Bug Fixes
(f) Titles Stay With Their Node - Opening another node no longer renames the one you left after it.
(g) Chinese and Japanese Search - Search now finds Chinese and Japanese words in the middle of a sentence.
4.2.1 21 OCT 2026

We got some new very cool widgets for you in this one, and the in-file search is now as smooth as humanly possible :) - Nico

Improvements
(a) Four New Desktop Widgets - Library, Revisit, Graph and Tasks join the tree: your library in numbers, a node you have not opened in a while, your graph, and your open tasks. Click one to open what it shows.
(b) Find, Redesigned - Press ⌘F and the tab pill turns into the find bar. Esc or Done turns it back.
(c) Writing Tools in Place - Rewrite and Proofread now change the text right in your note instead of in a popover.
(d) Code Blocks in Colour - Code blocks now colour names, calls and operators too, in the Nodes palette, and comments are easier to read.
Bug Fixes
(e) Switching Nodes During Writing Tools - Moving to another node while Writing Tools are working no longer crashes Nodes or puts the result in the wrong node.
(f) PDF and Image Filters Find Them All - The PDF and Image filters in search now show every PDF and image, not only the ones you opened recently.
(g) Code in Dark Mode PDFs - Exporting to PDF in dark mode no longer prints code in colours meant for a dark background.
(h) Tab Popover on macOS 15 - The tab popover no longer opens as a large empty square on macOS 15. It now fits its tabs.
4.2.0 13 OCT 2026

This is a big one. (The new release number 4.x.x is just to align the App Store with our internal system.) For the first time we let you customise the main UI. As we grew a lot over the last months, we understand that we now have a diverse set of users with different needs. We added a widget-like system for you to intuitively add more complex UI elements if you want them, or remove even the very minimal ones we had so far. In this update we give you the option to customise your sidebar with different controls, to match Nodes better to how you use it. We will continue to listen to feedback and add more widgets in the future. Thank you for writing in Nodes - Nico

New Features
(a) Customise Your Sidebar - Right-click the sidebar and choose Customise Sidebar to add, remove and reorder widgets from a gallery, the way you edit widgets on macOS. Choose Edit on a widget to turn it over and set its options.
Improvements
(b) Quick Look for Nodes Files - Press Space on a .nodes archive in Finder to see what is inside, or on a Markdown file to see it rendered the way Nodes renders it.
Bug Fixes
(c) Your Tree When the Desktop Dims - With a window in front, macOS dims desktop widgets, and in the evening the tree widget went blank. It now keeps its tree.
(d) Autocorrect Underline Stays Put - The blue underline under an autocorrected word no longer follows you when you swipe to the next note.
2.1.1 Improvements 6 OCT 2026
(a) Search, Redesigned - The search panel is now one glass surface. Press Tab on a tag to add it as a filter, and add more to find notes that carry all of them.
(b) Search Finds More - Search no longer drops matches before ranking them, finds words split across lines, and finds a renamed note by its new title. Matches by meaning are tighter and no longer slow your typing.
(c) A Fresh Tab Shows You Around - An empty tab now plays a short looping animation, one thing Nodes can do per scene, with its tip underneath. Click the tip to skip ahead.
Bug Fixes
(d) Scrolling Stays Still at the Edges - Holding the trackpad against the top or bottom of a note made the text judder. It now stays put.
(e) Tables Pasted From Gemini - A table copied from Gemini pasted as one line of bold text. It now arrives as a table.
(f) Your Tree in Tinted Mode - With the Tinted or Clear widget appearance, the tree widget showed nothing. It now draws.
(g) Tabs Close Smoothly - Closing or opening a tab no longer leaves its dots sliding past the edge of the tab strip.
2.1.0 New Features 1 OCT 2026
(a) Choose Your Own Shortcuts - A new Shortcuts tab in Settings lists every command and lets you change its key. Bold, italic and the other Format commands can have a key for the first time, and a key that is already taken tells you which command has it.
(b) Your Notes in Spotlight - Find any note from ⌘Space by its title, text or tags, and click to open it. Shortcuts and Siri can create a note, open one or search your library. Turn it off in Settings ▸ General.
Improvements
(c) Display Math for Block Formulas - Formulas between $ now render at display size, with limits above and below large operators and full-size fractions.
Bug Fixes
(d) Nested Lists Keep Their Levels - Pasting a nested list from Mail dropped its sub-items, and copying one out of Nodes flattened it. Both now keep every level.
(e) Task Boxes With List Helpers Off - With list helpers turned off, task lists had no checkboxes. They now show and tick, without bringing back the indent.
(f) The Graph Opens Without a Stall - Opening the graph while the sidebar was showing froze the canvas for a moment. It now keeps drawing while the sidebar folds away.
(g) Tables Follow the Window - A table could keep its old width while you resized the window. It now reflows as you drag.
2.0.4 Improvements 23 SEP 2026
(a) Drag Tabs Into Order - Hover the tab strip and drag a row in its panel to move that tab. The panel stays open while you use it, and clicking a marker in the strip switches tabs on the first click, not the second.
(b) New Tab Stops at Six - With six tabs open, New Tab used to close your oldest tab to make room. Now the row dims and reads 6 tabs max, and ⌘T greys out until you close one.
(c) The Graph Gets the Whole Window - Opening the graph or timeline folds the sidebar away, and leaving brings it back the way you had it. ⌘S still shows it while you are in there.
(d) Return Moves From Title to Text - Press Return in a note's title and the caret lands at the start of the note, ready to type.
(e) Untitled Notes Say So - A note without a name showed up as a blank tab, a blank row and a node with no label in the graph. It now reads Untitled everywhere, and the empty title field shows the word in grey until you type one.
(f) Safer Imports and Model Downloads - Importing a .nodes archive can no longer reach files outside the archive. A downloaded model is checked against its published size and checksum before Nodes uses it.
(g) Lighter on Your Mac - Nodes uses much less power while it sits in the background, and the graph and timeline use less memory.
Bug Fixes
(h) Quitting Mid-Generation Is Safe - Quitting while the on-device model was loading or writing could crash Nodes on the way out. Quit now waits the moment it takes for the model to stop cleanly.
(i) Deleting a Note the Agent Is Working On - Deleting a note while the agent was still writing tags, a description or a reminder for it could crash Nodes when the answer came back. The run now stops with the note.
(j) Waking Your Mac Stays Quiet - With reminders on, waking your Mac set off a scan of the whole library right away. The half-hourly scan now counts only time the Mac is awake.
(k) A Failed Save Stays in Sight - When a note could not be saved, its warning vanished the moment you went Home or to the graph, even though the edits were still waiting. The banner now follows you, comes back when you reopen the note, and goes away when you delete it.
(l) ⌘O Means Search - File ▸ Open showed ⌘O, but in the workspace ⌘O opens Search. The menu item no longer claims the shortcut, and still opens a markdown file in its own window.
2.0.3 Improvements 24 AUG 2026
(a) Choose What a New Note Is Called - Settings ▸ General ▸ Fresh Nodes offers two shapes for a new note's name. Date and time follows your region and your 12- or 24-hour choice. Sortable reads 2026-08-21 13.45 on every Mac. A preview shows what your next note would be called, and notes you already have keep their names.
(b) Three Asterisks Are a Scene Break - Three asterisks on their own line render as a centred star divider, the way a novel sets a beat. A line of dashes or underscores keeps the full-width rule, so both are available in the same note. The source stays plain markdown and an exported PDF matches.
(c) Export or Delete From a Row - Right-click any row in Home's Node Explorer. Export opens the same panel as ⌘⇧E, already pointed at that note.
(d) Surfaces That Say More - Rest the pointer on any section heading in Settings and it explains what the section is for. In the Node Inspector, SUGGESTED had one sentence for every situation - it now has six, so a run that found nothing says so instead of repeating the invitation.
(e) A Quieter Sticker Grid - Sticker cells held two lines for a name and two for a caption whether or not either filled them. The name is gone - it is struck across the top of the room a click opens - and captions run to one line. A cell is a third shorter.
(f) A Muted Link Target - With the caret inside a link, the address between the brackets took the loudest ink on the page. It now takes the same muted ink as the brackets around it.
(g) Typing in a Long List Stays Fast - Editing one item in a long list rebuilt every item in it. Only the items your edit reaches are restyled now.
Bug Fixes
(h) A Note That Is Only a Table Renders - A note whose entire content was a table could open completely blank. Return inside a table now keeps the row together, an escaped pipe in a cell no longer cuts its row short when exported, and a line break inside a cell prints as one rather than as its markup.
(i) Checking a Task Stops Moving the List - Ticking a task on Home made every row beneath it vanish and slide back in from the bottom of the window. They hold still.
(j) Nothing Shifts Under You - The first tag on a note pushed the inspector and the document down by a line, the Title picker in Settings slid sideways when its value changed, and the tag suggestion card changed height between suggestions.
(k) The Agent Leaves an Empty Note Alone - A note the app could not read counted as two words, so tag and description runs went ahead against a placeholder. Emptying a note now leaves the suggestions it already had.
(l) Export Names Read the Same on Every Mac - The date in an export's filename rendered in whatever calendar your Mac uses - a Buddhist year, Arabic-Indic digits, a Japanese era. It is one stamp everywhere now, and a zip and the folder inside it can no longer disagree.
2.0.2 Improvements 14 AUG 2026
(a) Your Tree on the Desktop - The garden tree is now a widget, in three sizes. It is the same tree Home draws, and it grows when you re-catalog.
(b) Onboarding Teaches the Swipe - A new first-launch step for the two-finger swipe between open files. The gesture is live on it, so you can try it there.
(c) A Bigger Node Explorer - Home's explorer gains filters for content type and when a note was made. Rows can show each note's description, and the density you pick is remembered.
(d) The Media Column Remembers Its Place - PDFs and images reopen where you left them, the way notes already did.
(e) Every Inspector Section Animates - Opening a second numbered section while one was open used to jump. All of them now animate.
Bug Fixes
(f) A Stray Keystroke Stops Making Notes - Typing in an empty tab no longer creates a note. New Note and ⌘O are unchanged.
(g) Find Reaches Every Match - Next and previous no longer bounce between the first two matches.
(h) Nothing Pulls You Back - Reopening a note lands where you left it, and scrolling away no longer snaps you back.
2.0.1 Improvements 9 AUG 2026
(a) Large Notes Open Fast - A 50,000-word note took about twenty seconds to open. It now takes a little over one, and switching away from it is four times quicker.
(b) A Cleaner Graph - Edges are drawn at one solid tone instead of piling up brighter at every crossing, and they sit a hairline behind your notes. Tag names take the same neutral ink as note names, with the yellow left on the pentagon, and selecting a node no longer nudges its label.
(c) Highlights Invert - ==Highlighted== text is now a block in the text colour with the page colour as its ink, and the caret and the pointer stay visible on it.
(d) A Tag Section That Holds Still - In the Node Inspector, ALL TAGS and CONNECTED are capped at a height that cannot move, so connecting a tag no longer shifts everything below it. Tags sort by how many other notes use them.
(e) Your Stickers at a Glance - The sticker collection is a grid you can take in at once, and a sticker opens in a room of its own.
(f) A New Note Takes the Current Tab - ⌘N now fills the tab you are on, like every other way of opening something. From Home it still opens a new tab.
(g) Keep a Note From the Agent - The inspector footer can exclude a note from the agent - no reviews, and its generate squares go dark - and the same line brings it back.
(h) ⌘D Deletes What You Are Looking At - On a tag page it deletes the tag, the way it already deleted the open note.
Bug Fixes
(i) Notes Reopen Where You Left Them - Leaving a note for Home and coming back no longer scrolls it to the top.
(j) The Tag Page Stops at Its Edges - It no longer bounces past the top and the bottom.
2.0.0 New Features 30 JUL 2026
(a) Alexandria and Rosetta - Nodes now has tiers. Alexandria is the library - unlimited notes and tags, the whole font catalog, import and export, library backup and the graph's settings panel. Rosetta adds the local inteligence, tag suggestions, semantic search, descriptions and reminders, all on your own Mac. Rosetta includes Alexandria, and both are bought once - no subscription, no account, nothing that expires. They live in Settings ▸ Plan, alongside restore purchases. Without either, Nodes is still the whole editor with a demo-sized library. Everyone who used Nodes before this release keeps everything, free, forever.
(b) Every Agent Pass Has a Switch - Descriptions, tags and reminders are three separate passes, and each one now has its own switch in Settings ▸ Agent. Turn a pass off and nothing new is generated by any route - its manual action and its suggested surfaces withdraw with it, while the descriptions and suggestions a note already carries stay. Reminders need a downloaded model, so with the built-in Apple model selected that row says so rather than failing quietly, and your choice is remembered for when you switch back.
Improvements
(c) Model Cards State What They Can Do - Every model card carries the same four rows now - descriptions, tags, image nodes, reminders - answered yes or no, with one line of state under them and a note when the model runs close to what this Mac has installed. The five squares group models by strength instead of ranking them all apart, so Alba, Avium and Rubrum share a rung, and Velutina and Robur share another.
(d) Stickers Shimmer in Their Own Shape - The holographic sheen has moved into the artwork. A sticker names one colour in its own drawing and the shimmer travels through exactly that shape at any size, instead of sitting on a rounded plate behind the image. One render path draws the sticker book, your user card and anything you share, and the Early Supporter globe is the first sticker drawn for it.
Bug Fixes
(e) Advice That Fits Your Mac - On macOS 15 the built-in Apple model's card told you to turn it on in System Settings ▸ Apple Intelligence & Siri - a setting that Mac has no concept of. It now names the real reason: Apple Intelligence needs macOS 26.
(f) Library Backup Reports Its Real State - Two start-up tasks could land in either order and leave a session with snapshots disarmed while the settings row still reported them running.
1.10.1 Improvements 26 JUL 2026
(a) Library Snapshots - Nodes now keeps recovery points of your whole library - notes, PDFs, images and the database behind them - on this Mac. One a day while the app is open, one before a replacing import or a database update, and one whenever you press for it. Restoring sets your current library aside instead of deleting it, so even a restore you didn't want can be walked back. It lives in Settings ▸ General ▸ Library Backup and can be switched off.
(b) Shortcuts That Close Things - ⌘W closes the current tab, Escape cancels an import that's waiting on you, and a second ⌘F in the graph closes the search the first one opened.
(c) Models by Name - The downloadable models take Latin names that carry their rank - Alba, Avium and Rubrum join Velutina, Robur and Gigantea - and the built-in one is plainly the Apple Foundation Model. Five small squares beside each name show how far up the range it sits, and when nothing is chosen the agent button becomes a way to choose.
(d) Tags You Can Say No To - Suggested tags in the Node Inspector close with two verbs, add and dismiss - dismissing takes that name off the table for this note, and the agent stops offering it here. A tag with no rules yet shows a card explaining what rules are and how to write the first.
(e) Reminders Read Everything - The task sweep on Home now covers every note instead of your open tabs and the twenty most recent, and it stays quick. Long lists fold behind a show-all, and a task your checklist already shows no longer arrives a second time from the agent.
(f) A Warmer Welcome - The first-launch tour types markdown and renders it as it goes instead of showing finished examples, and the graph and import demos sit on the window itself. The window keeps its size now, and racing back through the slides no longer crashes it.
Bug Fixes
(g) Search Results Sit Still - Meaning-based results no longer jump on every keystroke, and the panel opens at its full size instead of flashing small first.
(h) Titles Save on the Way Out - Renaming a note and switching away in the same breath now keeps the new title.
(i) List Markers Stay Visible - Selecting a list no longer makes its bullets and numbers disappear.
1.10.0 New Features 17 JUL 2026
(a) Tabs Replace Pins - The toolbar is now a true tab strip - one tab per open item, browser style. Opening a node fills the active tab instead of stacking a new chip, and every tab stays until you close it, so pinning is retired. Start fresh with an empty tab from the New Tab row.
(b) A Home for the Agent - Settings has a new Agent tab - the background agent's home. A master card shows live status at a glance, the power rules and primary language move in from General, redesigned model cards make choosing a model plainer, and a library chart shows how much of your library the agent has reviewed. Vietnamese joins the primary languages.
Improvements
(c) Delete Notes from the Keyboard - Press ⌘D to delete the current note - also in the File menu.
(d) Faster Under the Hood - Typing and search are noticeably snappier - search now runs off the main thread, word counts and link scans take a fraction of the time, and each keystroke lands in one smooth update instead of several.
(e) Your Words, Kept Safe - The editor now guards against failed reads and writes - if a save can't reach the disk, your unsaved edits are rescued and held until it can.
(f) Smarter Tables and Paste - Table cells wrap long text the way the web does, and pasting is cleaner - full documents keep their structure, task checkboxes survive the trip, and nested lists indent properly.
(g) Busy Days on the Timeline - Days with many created notes now lay out cleanly on the timeline.
Bug Fixes
(h) Agents Read Your Latest Words - Background agents now see what you just typed - the editor hands off unsaved text before an agent reads a note.
(i) Calmer Agent Starts and Stops - A brand-new note no longer summons the agent the moment it's created, and stopping a run no longer discards the reviews it already finished.
(j) Flow Mode Settles Down - Flow mode no longer flickers between notes, and an empty note shows a quiet placeholder instead of a blank.
(k) Search Forgets Deleted Text - Old text no longer lingers in full-text search results after its note changes or is removed.
(l) Click Outside to Cancel an Import - Clicking outside the import dialog now cancels it instead of leaving it hanging.
(m) Editing Helpers Apply Instantly - Toggling auto-close brackets or the list helpers now takes effect immediately - no relaunch needed.
1.9.2 Improvements 7 JUL 2026
(a) Sharper Semantic Search - Semantic search is a lot more accurate. A built-in, retrieval-trained model now understands meaning across many languages, so sharper results are there the moment you open the app - with no setup or download.
(b) Cleaner Node Inspector - The Node Inspector is calmer and easier to scan. Description, Tags, and Dates sit in numbered sections you can collapse, it remembers which you left open, and a quiet footer shows when a note was last edited.
(c) Fuller Search Previews - Semantic search results now show two full-width lines of each note's description, so you can tell similar matches apart at a glance.
1.9.1 Bug Fixes 2 JUL 2026
(a) Steady Search Results - Search results no longer overlap or flicker while typing.
1.9.0 New Features 30 JUN 2026
(a) Home Page - Nodes now opens to Home - a landing page that gathers your tag suggestions, reminders, a look at your library, your most-used tags, and a garden grown from your notes.
(b) A Living Garden on Your Card - Your User Card now shows a living garden - your chosen tree grows with your library under a sky that follows the time of day. Unlock milestone stickers as you write and collectible trees as you link tags, from the Verdant Oak to the rare Golden Willow, all in the new Collectibles section in Settings.
Improvements
(c) Reworked [[Link]] Autocomplete - Type [[ to link a note without leaving the keyboard. Suggestions show each name and date with your letters highlighted and the best match on top - use ↑ and ↓ to choose, Return to insert, ⌘↵ to link and jump there, and Esc to dismiss.
(d) Jump Between Open Items - Press ⌘1 through ⌘8 to jump to the item at that position in the toolbar.
(e) A Warmer Welcome - On first launch, a tree flies in through an arched window under a time-of-day sky as the Nodes wordmark fades in. Press Escape or click to continue.
(f) Format from the Right-Click Menu - Right-click in the markdown editor for a new Format menu - Bold, Italic, Strikethrough, Inline Code, Blockquote, Link, Headings, and lists - replacing the system Font submenu that did nothing for markdown.
(g) Tags Sorted by Recency in Search - Open Search (⌘O) with no query and your tags now sort most-recently-used first, interleaved with your nodes instead of alphabetically.
(h) Faster Image Opening - Images open faster - they're decoded to the size they're shown at, so large photos no longer stall the window. The same goes for your ![[image embeds]].
(i) Graph and Timeline Open When Empty - Opening the graph or timeline (⌘G) on a new library no longer snaps you back to the editor - the timeline opens as usual, and the graph shows a quiet empty state until you create your first node.
Bug Fixes
(j) Undo Stays With Its Note - Pressing ⌘Z after switching notes no longer edits the wrong note. Undo is now scoped to the note you're editing.
(k) Clear the Search Tag Filter - The ✕ on a Search tag chip now clears it on the first click, and the chip responds reliably to hover. Leaving Search also drops the tag scope, so your next ⌘O starts on All.
(l) Accurate Find in Document - Find in Document (⌘F) now matches the text exactly as shown, so searching a note with [[note links]] highlights the right words instead of landing a few characters off.
(m) Stable Model Downloads - Downloading several models at once no longer risks a rare crash from overlapping writes to the download bookkeeping.
1.8.0 New Features 23 JUN 2026
(a) Completely Redesigned Graph - The graph has been completely redesigned and rebuilt on a new rendering engine. Your notes lay out as points with yellow pentagon tags and gray lines that follow your [[links]], and edges, markers, and labels now stay crisp at any zoom. Hovering a node brightens its neighborhood and dims the rest, so clusters and connections read clearly at a glance.
(b) Image Understanding - With a vision-capable local model like Gemma 4, Nodes can now see your images. The Node Inspector suggests tags and writes descriptions for image nodes from the picture itself, and when you generate tags or a description for a note, it folds in what any embedded ![[images]] depict.
Improvements
(c) Reworked Graph & Timeline Navigation - Press ⌘G to open the graph, again to cycle to the timeline, and close it from the toolbar. Search every note and tag with ⌘O or the Search chip.
(d) Manage Tags from the Tag Page - Rename, merge, and delete a tag right from its Tag Page. The old Tags section has been removed from Settings.
(e) New On-Device Models - Added the Qwen 3.5 family in 2B, 4B, and 9B sizes alongside Gemma 4.
(f) Smarter Model Cards - Model cards now tailor RAM, usage, and vision guidance to your Mac, and the old Recommended badge is gone.
(g) Model Downloads & Storage - Interrupted downloads now resume where they left off, and settings flags leftover models so you can remove them.
(h) Native Scrollbar - The editor, media reader, and Tag Page now show a native scrollbar that respects your system setting.
(i) Snappier Tag Page Hover - Tag Page hover now responds almost instantly, while quick sweeps still trigger nothing.
(j) Cleaner Workspace File Menu - The workspace File menu no longer shows greyed-out document commands that had no effect there. They still work in Light Windows.
(k) Smoother File Navigation - Switching files by swipe or scroll now takes a more deliberate gesture and behaves consistently across trackpad, Magic Mouse, and wheel.
(l) Nodes Help Opens the Guide - Help ▸ Nodes Help now opens the online user guide in your browser.
Bug Fixes
(m) Light Window Remembers Its Size - The Light Window now reopens at the size you last left it, with no flash.
1.7.0 New Features 16 JUN 2026
(a) Redesigned Node Inspector - The Node Inspector now lives inline at the top of your note and scrolls away as you write, with reorganized Tags, Links, Details, and model sections, an editable title, and a single control to generate tags and descriptions.
(b) Flow - Distraction-Free Writing - A redesigned Flow mode (formerly Focus) gives markdown notes a calm, fullscreen writing stream that flows your text one line at a time with a typewriter-style caret and an animated entry. Toggle it from the View menu or the sidebar.
(c) Truly Lossless Export & the .nodes Archive - Export and import are now truly lossless and use a new .nodes archive: pins, generated descriptions, sticker unlocks, and node identity all survive a round-trip, so your links stay intact and re-importing updates notes in place instead of duplicating them. Image nodes export in their original format, and on import you can skip, replace, or keep both.
Improvements
(d) Full-Width Tables - Wide tables now break out of the reading column to the full window width with horizontal scrolling, while your body text stays comfortably centered.
(e) Read-Only Indicator - A read-only badge now appears in the toolbar so you can always tell when a note is locked for editing - click it to start editing again. PDFs and images show a view-only badge.
(f) About Tab in Settings - A new About tab in Settings shows the app version, a short blurb, and acknowledgements for the open-source projects Nodes is built on.
(g) Animated Generation Placeholders - AI tag and description generation now shows gently pulsing placeholders instead of spinners, so the layout no longer shifts while results come in.
Bug Fixes
(h) Renamed Links Stay Connected - Fixed links to a renamed node turning grey or keeping the old name - links now follow a note's identity and update everywhere the moment you rename it.
(i) Markdown Rendering Fixes - A round of rendering fixes for the markdown engine - more reliable line breaks, blank lines inside code blocks, bare links, inline formatting, and table spacing.
1.6.0 New Features 6 JUN 2026
(a) Nodes Light Window - Double-click any .md file in Finder to open it in a clean, standalone Light Window - read or edit loose markdown without pulling it into your library, then choose Import into Nodes whenever a file is worth keeping.
Improvements
(b) Full-AST Markdown Engine - Updated to a new markdown engine built on a full abstract syntax tree for more accurate and reliable rendering.
(c) Streamlined Text Editing - Removed the Text Edit toolbar and moved text size into Settings for a cleaner, less cluttered editor.
(d) Rate Us in Settings - Added a Rate Us prompt in User settings, making it easier to share your feedback on the App Store.
(e) Simplified Interface - Removed the Analytics window and the Show Tags option in the content view to keep the interface focused.
Bug Fixes
(f) Workspace Shortcuts - Fixed the ⌘O and ⌘S shortcuts in the workspace, which stopped working after the Light Window was added.
1.5.1 New Features 29 MAY 2026
(a) Redesigned Onboarding - A reworked first-launch experience with an animated intro and a one-tap import to get you started faster.
Bug Fixes
(b) Local Model Selection - Fixed the Apple foundation model being selected when it isn't available on your device.
1.5.0 New Features 26 MAY 2026
(a) Markdown Tables - Added table support to the markdown editor for richer formatted notes.
(b) Per-Note Read-Only Mode - You can now toggle read-only mode on individual notes with ⌘⇧R.
Improvements

(d) Lossless Import & Export - Tag rules are now included in lossless import and export.
(e) Persistent Spelling & Grammar - Spelling and grammar settings are now persisted across launches.
(f) Context-Aware Shortcuts - Inspector, text-edit, and find shortcuts are now hidden when they don't apply to the current content.
1.4.0 New Features 10 MAY 2026
(a) Tag Pages - A new tag page lets you explore each tag with co-occurrence cards, auto-tagging rules, and linked nodes all in one place.

Improvements
(c) Reworked Image Pages - Image pages have been reworked with a redesigned layout and improved viewing experience.
