Nodes 2.0

Full launch

August 2026

Munich, Germany

Every piece of feedback, each mail you send us, truly meant the world for us and shaped the path we took to get here. And here we are now, all around the globe using Nodes, every inked country on this globe held at least one early supporter before launch day. And for those people who were here before anyone asked them to be - we will never forget, Nodes will be yours, free. Forever.

The Nodes editor, a single note open in a quiet window.

Welcome to Nodes - a minimal, beautiful, and fast writing app for macOS. Built for those who care about both form and function, Nodes is a place to write, think, and create without distraction. Every design decision is intentional. Every element earns its place. Designed for macOS, it blends powerful technology with a quiet, focused experience.

Markdown rendered in the editor: headers, lists and a code block.

Write with clarity. Full markdown support lets you focus on your words while maintaining beautiful structure. Headers, lists, code blocks - all rendered elegantly without getting in your way.

[[what each plan holds]]

Search across the library, with results narrowing as you type.

Find anything, instantly. Full-text search runs from your very first note, on every plan: start typing and every word you have written is already being matched. Searching by meaning is the Rosetta half - describe an idea in your own words and the note about it comes up even when you never wrote those words down, because the model on your Mac has read the library and knows what the notes are about. It can only find what it has already been through, so a library it has just met fills in while you work. Both kinds of search happen on your machine; nothing is sent away to be looked up.

The library on disk: plain markdown files, kept on your own Mac.

Your thoughts stay with you. Everything runs on-device, private and secure. No cloud dependencies, no data harvesting. Just you and your words, exactly as it should be. Your notes are plain markdown files on your own disk, which is true on every plan and is why the library outlives the app. Alexandria adds the moving parts around them: Import & Export for whole folders and the portable .nodes archive, and a daily snapshot to restore from when a morning goes wrong. Without it Nodes keeps no recovery points at all - the files are still yours, and copying them out by hand is always yours to do. So you can always walk away with everything.
